Backwashing of filters – Susphalt measurement of backwashing water
Sand filters need to be backwashed at regular intervals to prevent clogging. How often can vary due to variations in load and with the seasons. You often rinse a little extra to make sure that the sand filter is restored. Avoid this extra backwash with the CTX 20/50, which measures the susphalt of the water used for the backwash.
The measurement shows how clean the backwash water is during flushing. When the susphalt in the water begins to drop to a pre-set, low level, the flushing is turned off and operation is resumed. In this way, the reverse flushing is controlled according to cleaning needs and not according to a preset flushing time. This leads to saved, purified water quantities for backwashing, reduced operating time of the pumps and saved costs.
